Learn to Lead is a highly inclusive project which is formed by pupils and staff working together. Rather than having a school council in which pupils are elected annually or termly, all pupils can self-elect themselves into different ‘teams’, chosen by themselves or their peers. Learn to Lead gives pupils the tools and structures to support them in all aspects of their life and learning. It is an opportunity for pupils to use the school community to find out more about themselves, what they want to do in the future and then gain skills in order to help achieve their goals. Currently teams include:-

Dance – Film Singing/Pamper  – Console –  Wellbeing

In June 2014 we were thrilled to be named as the first Special School in the UK to be awarded the converted Learn to Lead ‘Gold Award’ Status. Our award was presented by Michael Eavis. “Critchill School are exemplary in the way they have embraced the ethos, tools and structures of Learn to lead to support their young people in all aspects of their life and learning. It is fantastic to witness their commitment and the amazing outcomes as their students increase their capacity and confidence to run their own project teams.” Susan Piers-Mantell CEO Learn to lead Learn to Lead 2a
